Edamame or green soybeans is an excellent choice to eat between meals, not only for its reduced caloric value (120kcal per 100g cup), but also for its complete vegetable protein, folate (78% of the recommended daily allowance), manganese and fiber.
It contributes to prevent overweight, premenstrual syndrome, osteoporosis and some types of anemia.
It is eaten boiled with salt, similar to lupine, and can be found in Asian supermarkets.
